Hi,

[rant]

I have noticed lately that more and more images are getting posted that do not adhere to the fine guidelines that were put together by stubbsy. Please see this link:

http://www.dslrusers.net/viewtopic.php?t=2789

In a nutshell, images should not be larger then 800 pixel on the wide side and <200k.

If you want to post larger images, give a link to the larger image and/or post a smaller version to wet our appetite. You can do this from sites like pixspot, smugmug, etc.

This will help images fit in the web browser window, without having to scroll left-right.

Please remember that not everyone have a screen resolution of 1600x1280 and not everyone has broadband.

This will ensure that everyone can enjoy the pictures you post.

Feel better now, got that off my chest. I'll make myself a coffee, probably not enough caffeine today :? :?

Not directed to anyone in particular and hope not to step on anyone's toes.

cheers,

radar
(FYI I do have broadband an have 1280x1024 resolution but rarely have web browser maximised)

Whilst I dont condone it, I honestly think most people forget about it with a few probably who dont actually know how to reduce file sizes.

That said, I have had to point it out a few times already this week, so this is a timely reminder for those members who didnt bother to read the thread.

Cheers Radar.

Good point well made Radar.

The other consequence of overwide images is that text postings in the same thread go to the same width. A pain in the butt for all concerned.

Sorry I am guilty! Mine are resized to 800 but they arent below the 200kb, will endeavour to reduce them prior to posting... Should have read all the rules before I started posting and got carried away with uploading images...

Cheers
