great to see you getting out and shooting in what looks like a fascinating city

Number 6 has the best angles because they are balanced on either side
compared to the odd loook of the first 2
I would just increase ISO or if using your tripod do a longer exposure to get a more vibrant shot, but i guess Boston is windy and overcast so maybe you intended to capture the place as it were?

Keep on posting after your trip, get out and enjoy yourself, maximize your time and stay away from the computer/internet!

Thanks wendell, I am hoping to get out a lot more.. the trip over was 45 hours, so I was like screwed for the first 2 days... I'm a lot better now, but I'm still up working now (its 10pm here.. so it's been a long day).

you right about the weather, cold, overcast and bloody windy.. but I makes a nice atmosphere with some of the great buildings around here..

it is a windy city but not as windy as new york, anyways number 6 definitely has a lot of atmosphere to it, the ant view perspective is dramatic and the intimate framing of the two buildings on either side make the scene feel cosey, there is style and a certain urban feel I like.

These all seem a little dark on my work monitor.

I find the first two both appealing and hard to choose between, but then I've looked and I've looked, but I still can't pick a difference - they even have the same filenames

I can't really comment on #3 since it's just way too dark this end.

#4 - another car pic? - I'd like to see the orange middle bit in more detail. In any case - try cropping out some of the foregound. IT should make for a more dramatic image.

#5 - nice capture, but crop or clone the light (window?) in the top RH corner

The last shot is still very good despite not being exactly what you were aiming for.

Arh, just realised I have my Laptop on UBER bright (all shots are straight from camera, I just resized them and dumped then on PixSpot... unfortunate mid upload I got stuck on a Tech support call so it was all very hap-hazard.. hence the double #1, and #2 I've fixed that now.. should have a different #2 but a good pickup on that one... very observant..

I can't really comment on #3 since it's just way too dark this end.

#3 Yeah this shot looked better full size but looks very unappealing now.. will have to revist the RAW and check it out.

#4 This was from "the sidewalk" its the Boston Harbour Hotel my company office is right behind it sitting on the water.. pics of it hopefully tomorrow night.. or maybe even morning (if I can get out of the hotel earlier enough).

Yeah the last shot I didn't quiet get... I had the camera actually lying on the ground and felt a little guilty about it.. hence didn't back away far enough to get my ugly mug out of it... when I get a chance I'll try cloning out the window for #5 it is pretty distracting..

Hey Alpha_7, great pics. I think #1 would look better if you cropped the building (or whatever it is) from the very top of the image. I think it would make the picture seem more open at the top. But apart from that, as said before, great pics.

yeah thats what i was thinking, maybe a little off the right side as well maybe, as you said, to center it a bit. what do you think?
