Thought I'd share my weekend play at my brother's property at Mutchilba, Nth Q'ld. A lovely dam with white and purple waterlillies and a steep bank make for an interesting time. Also took a photo of my daughter's horse early one morning on its first day on the property. Clearly senses are on alert!
Still working out the 80-400Vr's intricacies. I'm becoming more impressed with its sharpness and versatility if used well and for the right applications. Any comments most welcome.

I'm sure you're already got the secrets of the 80-400VR.
It takes time for all of us to learn and achieve the best results of its glass.
Your sample of photos have said it all.

Yes, the second LS PJ is an new updated item, I haven't got it yet, so I could not comments, but as I've seen on their website, I like the LS PJ more than the LSII due to its compact and can fold up in small size.

Love your work marco. I have had my 80-400 for a couple of months, but hardly used it due to being very busy. Your results are very encouraging, can't wait to get out and have a crack.

Marco for the money it is an excellent lens and obviously you have already found out what it can do. The images are just a tad light on my monitor though. KerryPierce produces some excellent work with this lens, particularly when used in conjunction with the Canon 500D close up lens. :D

Greg- Thank you for the comments. I'm slowly getting there

Oneputt- you're probably right. I purposely lightened them a little. I have my screen calibrated with a Greytag Macbeth but in the past when i've shown images some have said they were too dark on their screens. So i posted them to myself at work(screen there not calibrated) and some were a little dark. So i tend to err on the side of caution when i post and just lighten a little. Maybe i'll leave things alone now that I generally only post here. The lens is impressive for the money.

Thank you all for the lovely comments. The more I use this lens the more I like it. Though it sometimes punishes sloppy technique quite brutally.

G'day Marco,
The 80-400's a great lens for the money eh? Looks like you've already got it worked out judging by these, the shot of the horse is terrific, sharp and detailed and a great expression, beautiful animal.

Thank you for the kind comment Andrew. The horse is certainly proud and 'cunning' but then again I'm no horsewhisperer.

Marco -
Tell you daughter I'm in love with her horse :)
Beautiful photo !! The water lillies are a tad light on my monitor also, but beautiful just the same.

I'll let my daughter know Rel. Strange though about the lightness in the photos i'll work on that in my future posts with a little underexposure. As i said it seems to be fine on my work monitor which i haven't calibrated.
