MotoGP Teaser...

Went to the MotoGP today at Phillip Island and met up with BBJ. We had a great time shooting the bikes. Gave me a chance to practice some panning and BBJ also gave me a few tips with the camera set-up.
BBJ also got some cracker shots of Capirossi's spill at the end of the straight (turn 1) and is in the process of having them published for a good sum! I'll leave him to tell you about it when he returns home. Hopefully he'll find a interent source at the Island tonight and wack them up on his website.
Two more days of this. I'm in heaven!!
Stay tuned for more... :D

Looks like you blokes are having a ball! Watch the lighting on shots like the one you've posted, the shadows are a bit overwhelming IMO. It's still a great shot for the amount of attitude shown by Rossi though. :)

I'd like to see a slight curves adjustment in the first of these. The image is mostly in the shade, and needs just little bit more something for maximum impact, so to speak.

Otherwise, enjoy the weekend. Tne Island has to be one of the prettiest circuits in the world, and offers so much to both riders and spectators.

And no eating any penguins, right?

Thanks guys,
Yeah, I went over the top in PP for the first one, but hopefully I've fixed it enough now. I guess Rossi being mostley in shadow doesn't help much. Well, off to the Island again for some more happy snapping! Will pass on your 'G'day's' to BBJ from you Jonesy! :D
Wait to you see his pic's, they're gonna be awesome!!!
Cheers, Jase. :D

BBJ is GOD!!! He got a full back page of 'The Herald Sun' here in Melbourne with the first shot. He much prefered the last one, but there ya go. Money shots for him. I'm sure he'll have some awesome shots to post when he gets back home. He tells me he's missing his interent access and can't wait to get back. Such an exciting weekend!!
It's certainly had it's fair share of accidents. Here's one I snapped today.

Waspo, while I have no issue with the cropping on the last two shots, the first three I find a bit too tightly cropped. Now this might be because you're cropping out things like the grass or other distractions I don't know (had similar issues at the F1GP). I'd just like to see a bit more room top and bottom of the rider.

Yeah Darryl, you are right. I tried to crop the grass and ripple strip out cause I thought they were looking a bit distracting. Today, I intentionally tried to take shots a bit tighter so that I cant fill the rider full frame giving the possibility crop even further to show just the riders heads/arms and front of bike. I don't know, I kinda like those types of shots. BBJ and I had a great weekend and I got to handle his big-ass 300mm lens! Damn, that b_tch is heavy!! He's using a monopod thats lost bit of thread, so she's wobbling all over the place. The shots he's taken with it under this condition is IMO testament to how talented and skillful he is!
Like you, I can't wait to see some of his awesome shots! :D

Now, this guy had a BIG lens!
