G'day all,
Just got back from a week-end down at the Prom. Went down there for a wild flower workshop but the wind and rain was foul, frustrating but still great fun with about 10 other camera fans, Nikon, Canon, all sorts which is great. Bloody flowers wouldn't stay still in the wind but the landscape is so dramatic after the fires, the rate of grow back is amazing. Seeing all the new birth among the burnt is stunning...
Had one sunny patch for about 40 minutes all week-end until the day we left which was beautiful and sunny with nice fluffy clouds
Think we spent more time eating and drinking that anything
Anyway, nothing flash but just thought I'd share...
Cheers,
Some stuff wandering around in the stark landscape with the 12-24:
Taken with the 80-400 with a Canon 500d close-up filter, the lichen(?) is only a couple of mm high:
Walked up to the top of Mount Oberon just in time to see the storm front coming in, the wind was so strong we had to almost lie down and push down on the tripod so the camera didn't take off! Then after only a couple of minutes we had to quickly pack up before we were belted with rain Taken with the 12-24:

Aka Andrew

A very good collection of images Andrew. I particularly like your B&W landscape, #2.

Good pics Andrew. I too like the B & W pic. Nice landscape. I know what you mean about Mt Oberon. I have been up there when there was only a stiff breeze going up. But when we reached the top, it felt more like a gale!
Regards

the black and white one of the rock and tree is nicely composed
the last two pics show a wild elevated position, must of been been a thrill to experienc that sort qof landscape, personally i am scared of heights so i wouldn't last up there. Where exactly is Wilson's Prom?

The B&W one, and the Kangaroo Tail (is that what it's called?) are great - really nice. So, too, the macro shot. The others don't do a great deal for me, although I can see what you're trying to do with the first - I've tried a lot of these sort of shots too, and haven't been happy with any yet!
Looks like a brilliant place for pics, especially if you get the weather right
