I had a big go with my SB800. This particular shot, the flash was handheld and i was impressed with the unit immensly. Took some breaking in. Shot manually as i normally do and experiment with. I find the unit is easier to use handheld under these shooting ideals. Im no pro but if anyone has any other suggestions on usage let me know. I have tried tripod mounting. After this i rekon i need a grip strap.

Pretty close Jethro, I reckon you could lose maybe 0.3-0.7 EV on the flash, then if you've got the whole subject in the frame you've got a winner. Good stuff! :)

Im dirty i lost his arm. But i was quite happy with the exposure.

I like this shot it's very stylish, reminds me of a mooks or monster children art directed shoot!
try one with a strobe light instead of a flash unit, the results would look insane!
