Here’s a shot I took tonight with the 50mm at f1.4 with the +4 Hoya Close-up filter. Yikes, that DOF is tight!!

A little too tight for me Manta. Perhaps the DOF needs to be back a little to get the keys more in focus.

Thanks Owen but I wasn't intending to achieve a balanced shot, just wanted to try a demo to clearly show the effect.
I took several more at varying apertures but they were just..well...photos of a keyboard!

I've found a book lying open is a good way of showing the DOF effect. That way you can clearly see what text is sharp and what is out of focus, perhaps the letters are too far spaced apart on a keyboard to really show the shallowness to it's full effect? Just my opinion anyway

Using this thaddeus and I reckon that we were playing with less than 0.5mm DOF for our match shots this arvo...

Yep, house is going well - almost finished. And the avatar is Diana sampling the waters at the Whitsundays
