Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX APO IF

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Kerry, you are driving me insane with your beautiful shots - I get my 70-200 on Tuesday. When I get it I am going out to find a dog :roll: :roll: :roll:

Great shots Kerry, but i must say all your shots are great. I want to know how to get your signature like that in the corner on an angle, i cant seem to work it out and i am a photoshop dummy.

Thanks for your very kind words, John. :D :oops: I don't know how to do that in PS. I generally use PSP. I'd guess that you'd have to lay your sig on a separate layer, size it to something manageable and use the PS equivalent of PSP's deformation tool. I'll give it a quick look in PS CS to see if I can figure it out quickly. It's 2am here, I'm off to bed so I can go out to try to get some shots tomorrow.

Okay, I figured it out on a new canvas. It should work the same on any canvas. Choose the text tool, type in your text and then go to the Edit menu. About 2/3 of the way down, is Transform. Clicking on that gives you a sub menu with Rotate. Clicking on Rotate puts a bounding box around your text and allows you to rotate and move it to your satisfaction.

Hope that gets you where you want to go. If not, I'll try again tomorrow. :D

Kerry, I agree with the others, this is really a lovely shot.
You didn't use flash and I'm trying to figure out what those catchlights in the eyes are from, any idea?

Hi Phillip,

Thanks for the kind compliment. :D The catchlights are from overhead lights. The dog was looking up at a slight angle. The dog show was in a very large indoor special event arena. The ceiling is 3 or 4 stories high, lots of concrete support pillars, with lots of bare bulbs in cone shaped reflectors. That's why you can see several of them in each eye, but only above the midpoint of the eye.

I love the pic. Sharp and great colouring. The dog seems to be concentrating to hard on what is being said to it.
