Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Well while we were at Frenchmans Cap, there were two others there - a couple of climbers. They were doing an ascent of the cliff - the second most difficult route up there, and like only the 3rd or 4th time it had been done (or at least recorded) via this route. So, having a camera and a tripod and a couple of lenses, this was too good an opportunity to pass up. Took me a while to find them - panning around with the zoom until I found them. By the way, it took them 11 and a half hours from bottom to top, and I took their boots to the top for them so they didn't have to come down in their climbers or barefoot. If you want the best effect here, wait for all eleven to load before viewing, or better still, save locally then view with a slideshow - the camera is in the same place for all eleven photos, just different focal length. I hope you appreciate these - it took me ages because I'm on pathetic dialup - can't get ADSL here. One last thing - apologies for the pathetic quality of the 70-300 G kit lens. Yep, thumbs up. They took my wife's Olympus C770 with them - he carried in a 35mm film SLR but was going to leave it in the hut due to weight, so we loaned it to them & sent them a CD each. They could see us and took a photo of us from up there, it's cool too.
It was amazingly still, we could hear them talking as clear as anything, we easily had a conversation with them. I asked them to smile for that last photo.

Magic mate!!! Frenchmans is a ballsy climb....very high on my list of must do routes. Love that last shot, they look like the stereotypical trad climbers
