Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Hi guys,

Here are some of my pics from this year's Belgian Grand Prix. No PP (except slight saturation in some), interested to see if you think they need some? D70 + 70-200 VR mostly at f/2.8, some with TC17EII.

It's like most shooting, if you've never shot it before it's hard, but with a little practise you get to see what works and what doesn't. I shot all these from Pouhon, the double left-hander; they're doing something like 220 km/h at the entry, and 270-odd on the exit (where the Sunday ones above were taken), so pretty damn fast. In hindsight I should have done some shooting from the Bus Stop chicane as well, where they're only doing 90 km/h or so and there are also good vantage points, but oh well, next time! :)

Fast glass was a must, and these pics wouldn't have been possible without it. Most of the Sunday was gloomy and overcast, but I still managed to take good pics because the 70-200 VR is sharp wide-open, so I could keep my shutter speed up without giving in to softness. My old Tamron (f/6.3 wide open at 300 mm) would have been a joke in these conditions.

Yeah a lens @ f/2.8 is definately a benefit :D

You have some great images. Standouts for me are the ones with the spray and the now ex-world champion MS. Eventhough I am not a Ferrari fan, gee the red looks good on screen.
