70~300mm plus 1x filterAfter seeing all the great closeups posted to this forum I decided to purchase a set of closeup filters for my 70~300mm G lens.

Cheese! you've brought the value of that lens up to the high standard!
Great details and sharp with my eyes. Last edited by birddog114 on Sat Oct 15, 2005 9:24 am, edited 1 time in total.

I like this - I think the 'value' of this lens comes in around f9, which just happens to be what this has been taken with. Slightly more dof would have helped, as the hair on the bee's back is not as sharp as other parts of the pic (fussy aren't I!), but overall a great shot - and proof the lens isn't as bad as some outside of this forum claim!
Looking forward to seeing more from you Greg ![]() *** When getting there is half the fun! ***

One to be proud of - especially since you've used the much maligned 70-300G lens. Peter
